New Revolution Re-Loaded Palettes
Revolution Makeup have been releasing loads of new products
recently – you might have seen my recent post about their pressed glitter palettes – and they’ve just dropped four new Re-Loaded palettes. I loved the
original Re-Loaded range, so I was really excited when I heard about these, and
when I saw the palettes I had to get them! These palettes are only £4 each
which is such a bargain for fifteen good sized pans.
Here’s a closer look them.
Visionary
On first impressions this was my favourite of the four palettes;
the colours are just so pretty and it’s giving off similar vibes to the upcoming
Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Norvina palette. It’s a mix of mattes and
shimmers, made up of nudes and browns with a few pops of pink and purple, and
the pops look gorgeous in the palette. When I first swatched the shadows they
didn’t show up that strongly, so I was a little worried about the pigment, but
once I put the eyeshadows on my eyes on top of primer, the colours showed up
really well. This palette could be used for everyday makeup looks as well as some
really nice bright and shimmery looks.
Newtrals 3
I really liked Newtrals 2 and the third version is no
different. This palette has a lot of deep matte browns, burgundies and reds
with some shimmery gold and deep pink pans. It also has a black pan. I was
really impressed with the pigment when I swatched the shades and the colour on
my eyes was even better. I can definitely see myself going to this palette for
night time looks.
Basic Mattes
This palette does exactly what its name says; it’s made up
of entirely mattes shades, a mix of nudes, browns and a black. When I swatched
the palette the darker shades showed up well, but the lighter shades didn’t
seem to have that much pigment. Again, when I put the shadows on my eyes it was
a different story and I really liked them. I think this will definitely become
my everyday palette for really toned down and neutral looks.
Velvet Rose
I was really drawn to this palette when I first saw it, I think
it’s really pretty. It has matte nudes, shimmery golds and a mix of matte and
shimmery browns. The pigment on the swatches was somewhere in the middle of the
other palettes. The only issue I had on they eyes was with the second pan,
which seems to be more of a pressed glitter rather than a shimmer shadow. It
didn’t seem to want to stick to my primer. I tried the Revolution Glitter Glue
primer that I purchased with the pressed glitter palettes and it seemed to do
the trick.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the new Re-Loaded range.
Yes, I’m sure I could get a lot more pigment from some more high-end palettes,
but at £4 each, you can’t really go wrong with these.
